Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy technique training at Hue Mental Hospital.

Implementing Plan No. 18/KH-ĐT dated August 24, 2022, and Decision No. 479/QĐ-BV dated August 25, 2022, of the National Psychiatric Hospital I (TWI) regarding the continuous training program on “Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy Technique” at Hue Mental Hospital.

With the permission of the Department of Health, on the morning of September 26, 2022, Hue Mental Hospital, in collaboration with the National Psychiatric Hospital I, organized the opening ceremony for the continuous training program on “Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy Technique” at Hue Mental Hospital.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a technique that uses short magnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells in the brain through the skull, with the purpose of modulating the electrical activity of corresponding brain regions. It is a non-invasive technique that does not require surgery or electrode implantation. TMS has been increasingly proven to be highly effective in treating common psychiatric disorders, especially severe depression, neuropathic pain, and other mental disorders. The demand for transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy in psychiatric practice is growing. Based on this demand, Hue Mental Hospital proposed that the National Psychiatric Hospital I organize the transfer of TMS therapy technique through training for doctors and technicians from hospitals with a need for this treatment.

During the opening ceremony, ThS.BS Hồ Dũng – Director of Hue Mental Hospital expressed appreciation and honor for the hospital being chosen as the venue for colleagues to exchange experiences and knowledge in the field. This is also the first time that the institution has organized a training course with the participation of colleagues from various specialized and general hospitals in the region.

The training course will last for three months and will include both theoretical and practical components. During the knowledge transfer process, lecturers from the National Psychiatric Hospital I will directly deliver theoretical lectures and provide hands-on guidance to the trainees.

Upon completion of the course, participants will be awarded certificates according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health.
